Grocery Stores: The New Place to be Seen
Are grocery stores the new night out? Probably not, but new niche stores seem to be popping up weekly, and have become the place to be seen. High Snobiety says Erewhon is in its Supreme Era (did you see the news of their tenth location opening soon in Pasadena?), Big Night is curating tinned fish and spritz nights as part of their summer hosting series. Happier Grocery is newer on the scene, “previewing Summer 2023,” and it just makes you think: are grocery stores taking a note from fashion industry’s playbook?

The Age of Fun Lil Drinks
From Olipop to Ghia to relaxation drinks and electrolyte refreshers—like Leisure Hydration—the age of the “Fun Lil Drink” is among us. Some TikTokers (hi, @Carly) are creating afternoons around it—like, wake up early on a Saturday with no-plans plans. Throw on an athleisure set and hit pilates, then reward yourself with a fun lil drink, like a vanilla iced latte. I’m here for it.

Sardine Core
This is old news, but brands are making art out of tinned fish, and I, again, am here for it. It’s definitely having a style moment, but it’s interesting to trace the creatives behind the revival, and I kind of feel like it might be partly responsible for the Vera Bradley cosmetic bag making a comeback (see: 97 million views on TikTok and counting).
Until next time.
